if i could write you a song to make you fall in love

oh oh oh! hello there!
loooooooong time, no? what's been happening in my life.. what was happening when i last wrote? probs nothing. aha. anyways. hi, i am alive, i am well, i am better, in fact, than i've ever been. it's summer (still, but only just) and i'm having the time of my life. my friends and i certainly fit well into the category known as the young and the reckless.

don't get me wrong, it hasn't all been rainbows and butterflies and alcohol and a blissful haze. in between those things there's been a 4 month hospital admission. but i'm free now, so it hardly matters..

in 9 days time i will be taking my driving test.
in 11 days time i am moving to cambridge.
in 23 days time i will be turning 18. (not that it's going to be much different because i go out all the time anyway, but YAY for never having to ask someone else to borrow their id to go clubbing. yay for being able to finally buy my own cigarettes.)
in a few months time my family and i are going away to africa, where we will spend the christmas period ignoring all traces of festivity, trees, presents, baubles etc.

i miss my dad every single fucking second but that just makes me even more determined to enjoy each day i'm lucky enough to have here.
